KUALA LUMPUR: Pesona Metro Holdings Bhd and its joint-venture partnetrs have secured a RM172.7mil roadworks project, stretching from Merapoh to Kampung Kubang Rusa.
It said on Monday its unit Pesona Metro Sdn Bhd and the partners Pembinaan Kaleigh Sdn Bhd and Hanawin Sdn Bhd would undertake the project, which was expected to take 36 months to complete, effective from March 17.
The stretch would be along the Central Spine Road highway Package 3 linking Gua Musang, Kelantan to Kampung Relong, Pahang, specifically Section 3E2 from Merapoh to Kampung Kubang Rusa.
The new highway project is part of the East Coast Economic Region plan. Pesona Metro was previously awarded and has already completely roadworks for Section 3F of the highway from 2010 to 2013.
“We are very happy to say that despite the general outlook, 2015 will be a promising year for the group. So far, we have managed to secure the Merapoh to Kg. Kubang Rusa’s roadworks project and we are also in the midst of sealing some other deals,” said Pesona Metro Holdings managing director Wie Hock Beng.
Wie said he was confident about the group’s performance and that it was on a positive growth chart this year, citing its recent fourth quarter results earnings of more than RM61.6mil.
It also declared a single tier dividend of one sen to all its shareholders. Wie added that its current unbilled order book stood at a healthy figure of almost RM600mil.
“At the same time, we have submitted tenders and bids for works where the aggregate value is approximately RM1bil,” he said.
PMHB was selected as the main contractor to undertake the rehabilitation and beautification project of Sungai Melaka and its riverine embankment, a project that had a contract value exceeding RM234mil.
