KOTA BHARU: The official flag for the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V at Istana Balai Besar here was raised at full-mast as of midnight.
The flag-raising ceremony was conducted by two members from the Eighth Company of the Royal Military Police Corps, namely Sergeant Andy Hamdi and Corporal Mohd Risuaimi Che Hashim.
Also joining in the ceremony were six members from the Fifth Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment.
Sultan Muhammad V succeeds Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah for a period of five years, beginning Dec 13.
