KUALA KRAI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived in Kuala Krai today to inspect on the progress of the construction of the district's second hospital.
This is Najib's first visit to the hospital project site, which was listed under the 10th Malaysia Plan.
Najib's arrival at 4.55pm was formally welcomed by Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Hilmi Yahya. Najib spent about 10 minutes listening to a briefing by project director Alias Adam on the hospital construction's development before leaving the site at 5.20pm.
The 268-bed hospital project, expected to be ready by May 2017, is estimated to cost RM304 million.
So far, the project is 55 per cent complete and is said to be on schedule to meet the completion date.
Also present at the visit were Minister for International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Kelantan state health director Datuk Dr Razin Ahmad Maher.
Najib also participated in a group photograph with all those involved in the 100-hectare hospital project before he ended his visit in Kelantan and returned to Terengganu.
